Feature scope 0.12.1QUEST / PICOOn-headset AI
Complete features
Offline subtitle narration
- Built into standard Debug and Release: read Chinese, English and Japanese text subtitles on the device with 12 preset voices and voice previews.
- Choose all/first/second subtitle lines, keep subtitles visible or hide them, adjust narration volume, original-audio ducking and timing.
- Remember enabled state, language, voice and adjustments per video; a new video starts off. Automatic timing adapts up to 1.8×. Text reading is not translation or PGS OCR.
Cinema screens and viewing defaults
- 100-inch, 150-inch and two giant-screen presets. Set distance from 1–50 m and size from 100–3000%, choose curvature, and keep recent adjustments or lock your preferred view.
- Adjust viewing height; a temporary grid appears during placement/resize. Follow recent adjustments automatically, or fix your preferred screen settings for reopening/recentering.
- These are screen layouts and presets, not a complete 3D cinema scene or IMAX certification.
Audio sync and dialogue enhancement
- Fine-tune audio timing per video and track, follow headset system volume and enhance quiet dialogue. Keep narration and original-audio levels separately adjustable.
- External audio tracks show full filenames. Video and audio timing are stored per track independently of subtitle sync.
- Four video modes: play one, repeat one, ordered play and list repeat. Supported cloud/server sources can continue across pages.
Video formats and stereo
- Flat, VR180, 360°, fisheye, side-by-side and top-bottom stereo, including half/full layouts and eye swap.
- Automatic mode detection, manual mode lock, per-file viewing memory and horizontal/vertical stereo alignment.
- Compatible unencrypted Blu-ray and MVC 3D ISO main features, including supported multi-clip playlists, audio selection and seeking.
AI people passthrough and Alpha
- Live AI background removal for supported VR180 and spatial videos; ordinary flat photos can be prepared as 3D portraits.
- Adjust model size, mask feathering, edge erosion and the processing frame-rate limit. Unsupported runtimes fall back to the supported rendering path.
- Compatible full side-by-side fisheye videos can use a built-in packed Alpha mask instead of live AI; the choice is remembered per video.
Apple spatial media and AI 3D
- Native MV-HEVC video and HEIC/HEIF spatial photos; valid source data enables recommended stereo offsets for videos and capture-FOV matching for videos/photos.
- On-headset 2D-to-3D for flat mono videos and photos, with adjustable strength and independent video/photo preferences.
- Spatial videos can use supported people-passthrough processing. Native stereo photos do not use the ordinary-photo AI portrait route.
Photos and immersive galleries
- Flat and panoramic photos, side thumbnails, a one-to-three-row Photo Wall and Memory Fragments.
- Pinch and drag to browse, two-hand resizing, group switching, an independent magnifier, adjacent-image preloading and 3D caching.
- Keep photo layouts and placement; use a selected 360° panorama as the Player background.
Libraries, sources and search
- Local files, compatible read-only FAT32/exFAT/NTFS USB drives, SMB, DLNA, WebDAV, STRM and cloud/server integrations.
- Emby/Jellyfin posters, landscape cards and lists with size preferences, cast links, multi-image details, filters, sorting and multi-part selection.
- On-demand cloud pages and service-supported sorting, keyword/type search, library context retention and compact/full browsing during playback. WebDAV reuses loaded directory snapshots.
- Use available system input methods for search. Improved MP4 network reads and ISO preparation reuse reduce redundant loading in supported cases.
Audio, subtitles and dubbing
- Choose other same-folder text subtitle files, including alternate names/versions; audio/subtitle selection and per-subtitle timing are remembered.
- Adjust text size/color/position/distance and horizontal/vertical layout. Flat-video PGS remains visible in supported 2D-to-3D playback and retains its palette.
- Matching .si.mix.m4a tracks from VR Video Toolbox CUDA, variable playback speed and pitch compensation.
Viewing, controls and file tools
- Screen position, scale, rotation, curvature and color controls, independent sharpness/supersampling and supported compositor display with fallback.
- Session head following for flat video, single/portrait photos and menus; an independent environment-passthrough switch.
- Scene-specific buttons and combinations, grip movement, bookmarks, resume/history, previous/next, ordered play and list repeat, rename previews and multi-select deletion where supported.
Personal favorites and privacy
- Save videos, photos and folders, return to the source directory, batch-remove records and undo recent removals without deleting original files.
- Choose all/local/no history and clear network/all history independently of saved accounts and active favorites.
- Protect the app collection with a four-digit PIN, encrypted storage, manual lock and automatic-lock policies; locked protected playback closes.
Read-only USB and comfortable controls
- Read compatible FAT32, exFAT and NTFS drives/partitions with media and same-folder subtitles. Stop all app USB access with one global action.
- Resize a flat video proportionally from its corners with a trigger; the default right stick adjusts screen size or immersive zoom.
- Deliberate movement/button presses wake controller rays; multi-row photo navigation keeps its row and 3D photos switch only when ready.
Adjustable parameters
| Item | Options / range | Details / conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Playback speed | 0.25–3×; step 0.05× | Pitch compensation; reset to 1×. |
| AI mask size | 256 / 320 / 384 / 512 | Square model inputs; global preference. A new size may need initial preparation. |
| AI frame-rate limit | 10–40 FPS; step 1; initial default 30 | An upper limit, not guaranteed throughput. Existing saved choices remain. |
| Alpha feather / edge erosion | Each 0–100%; step 1% | Refine the AI outline; defaults are 100% feather and 40% erosion. |
| Video / photo AI depth | 0–200% | Flat mono media; video and photo preferences are separate. Native stereo media uses its own display path. |
| Flat-video distance | 1–50 m; step 0.1 m | Flat-screen setting; cinema presets may retain finer nominal distances. |
| Flat-video screen size | 100–3000%; step 5% | Relative screen size; photo controls have independent limits. |
| Video rotation | −90° to +90°; step 1° | Text subtitles stay upright. |
| Photo distance / size | 0.3–10 m / 40–600% | Single-photo adjustment; group layouts have their own placement. |
| Photo magnifier / wall | 2–8× / 1–3 rows | The magnifier is independent of overall photo scaling. |
| Subtitle sync | −10 to +10 s; step 0.1 s | Remembered separately for each subtitle of a video; positive delays, negative advances; reset to zero. |
| Text size / colors | 50–200%; step 5% / 5 styles | Text and outline styles; PGS retains its own palette. |
| Immersive text placement | 0.1–5 m; elevation −60° to +60° | Horizontal/vertical text; near placement should be adjusted for comfort. |
| Stereo alignment | Horizontal / vertical ±5%; step 0.05% | Per-video display offsets; does not change the headset IPD. |
| Fisheye angles | 180° / 190° / 200° / 220° | Choose the angle matching the source; available controls depend on its mode. |
| Color and display quality | Color presets / custom; independent sharpness and supersampling | Exposure, contrast, temperature, gamma, saturation and RGB controls; some effects require a costlier display path. |
| Playback memory | Per-video modes, tracks, subtitle timing and AI 3D choice | A newly opened video does not inherit manually enabled people passthrough. |
| Favorites PIN | 4 digits | Encrypted app collection; source media remains unchanged. A short PIN is not strong protection against offline guessing. |
| Favorites auto-lock | Relaxed 15 min / standard 2 min / strict immediate / manual until exit | Manual locking is also available; playback-history settings are independent. |
| Playback-history privacy | All / local only / none | Clear existing network or all history separately, without removing saved accounts or favorites. |
| Spatial-source matching | Recommended stereo offset / capture FOV when valid | Video offset is optional per file; FOV matching applies to supported videos/photos with capture data, not a generic true-scale reconstruction. |
| Cinema presets | 100 / 150 inches; 22 / 32 m giant-screen envelopes | Nominal envelopes fit source aspect ratio; eye-level placement can be adjusted. |
| Screen curvature | Off / light / medium / wrap | Direct selection for flat screens. |
| Viewing defaults | Follow adjustments / fix current settings | Distance, size, cinema mode and height restore on reopen/recenter. |
| Audio-track sync | −10 to +10 s; step 0.05 s | Remembered per video and audio track; independent from subtitle sync. |
| Narration voices / timing | 12 presets; Chinese / English / Japanese; automatic up to 1.8× | On-device text subtitles; per-video opt-in and memory. No manual rate control. |
| Narration mix / sync | Volume & ducking: 0–100%, step 5%; timing: ±2 s, step 0.1 s | All/line 1/line 2; display subtitles by default, optional hide. |
| Music imports | MP3 / OGG / WAV / FLAC / DTS; Android up to 512 MiB/file | Persistent local copies; no fixed total quota; storage-dependent. |
| Video / music play modes | Video: 4 modes; music: ordered / repeat list / repeat one / shuffle | Video cross-page continuation depends on source; music is one global channel. |
| Puzzle piece counts | Photos: 24 / 48 / 96; mono 360°: 6 / 24 / 54 | Seated/standing layouts; independent saved games and reference image. |
Parameters describe Player 0.12.1 standard builds. Narration is included and enabled separately for each video; available packages depend on the channel. Settings are not performance guarantees.
Sources and library capabilities
| Item | Options / range | Details / conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Local / read-only USB | Local files; compatible FAT32/exFAT/NTFS drives and partitions | USB is read-only. Some system volumes need folder permission. Stop-all releases app access, not system power/unmount. |
| SMB / WebDAV | Network folder browsing and compatible remote playback | Permissions, seeking and writes depend on the source. |
| DLNA / Thru3D Server | Discovery, manual address entry and advertised subtitle resources | For Server people passthrough, select its compatible Alpha output. |
| Media servers | Emby / Jellyfin / Plex / Stash / XBVR | Capabilities vary; source-supported favorites do not imply full playback-progress writeback. |
| Cloud drives | 115 / Baidu / Aliyun / Quark / OneDrive | On-demand pages, supported sorting/search. Manual subtitle choices use the opened page; supported automatic discovery can target matching companions across pages. |
| STRM / companion files | Compatible indexed links, subtitles and matching dubbing audio | Access and discovery still depend on the underlying source. |
| File actions | Opt-in multi-select deletion, rename preview and companion-file linking | Source/permission dependent; 115 Open rename support is distinct from older cookie access. |

|---|---|---|
| Select and open controls | Controller ray + matching trigger; supported pointing/pinch input | Menus are selected by pointing. Sticks scroll lists. |
| Play / library / back | Default right A / left X / B or Y | A plays/pauses video or collapses an opened photo. B/Y returns by context; ordinary video returns to the library. |
| Move and change distance | Hold grip; same-hand stick up/down | Grip moves panels/flat screens or rotates immersive media. Trigger-drag flat-video corners to scale; saved custom controls remain. |
| Seek | Preview target, return stick to center to commit | Defaults: left 20 s, right 10 s per step. Lists/settings/pointer capture isolate playback shortcuts. |
| Photo gestures / shortcuts | Pinch-drag, two-hand scaling; double-click 3D or volume icons | 3D toggles its effect; volume toggles mute. Button combinations are configured by scene. |
Compatibility and support scope
| Item | Options / range | Details / conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Headsets | QUEST / PICO; experimental OpenXR Android | Minimum targets: Quest 2 / PICO Neo3. Quest 3 / PICO 4 Ultra recommended for AI; not every device/effect is equally verified. |
| Blu-ray / MVC | Unencrypted main features; progressive 720p/1080p MVC, 8-bit 4:2:0 | Compatible multi-clip layouts only. No disc menu/decryption or promise of standalone MVC MKV/TS compatibility. |
| Spatial video and color | MV-HEVC software stereo; HEIC/HEIF spatial photos | Device-dependent software playback. Valid metadata enables source matching, not full Apple spatial presentation/true scale. Spatial photos output sRGB; DV P5 color is not HDR certification. |
| Subtitles | Text subtitles and flat-video PGS | ASS/SSA text does not imply full style/effect rendering; immersive PGS is outside the stated scope. |
| Alpha / head following | Compatible packed masks; supported single-content following | Not every Alpha layout or chroma-key source. No permanent room anchors or head-locked full photo walls. |
| Favorites and playback scope | App favorites PIN; four video play modes | Original media is not encrypted. Cross-page continuation is source-dependent; full media-server progress writeback is not promised. |
| Interface and search input | Simplified / Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese | System keyboard/input methods depend on headset availability. |
Music and photo extras
Global music library and playlists
- Six music tracks, six ambiences, playlists and a shared queue. Preview and import MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC or DTS for offline listening while browsing photos.
- One shared player for the homepage and photo controls; music and ambience use one channel. Manage library, playlists and queue with ordered/list-repeat/repeat-one/shuffle modes.
- Import a complete local copy from local/USB/SMB/cloud/WebDAV sources and listen offline. Preview and seek before import; inspect storage use. Android: up to 512 MiB per file, no fixed library quota beyond available storage; multichannel audio is played in stereo.
- Photo changes and returning home keep playback; video playback or app focus loss pauses it. Restart restores state silently. Removing a playlist reference never deletes the source file; this is not an Android background service.
Photo puzzle extras
- Flat, supported AI 3D and spatial photos offer 24/48/96 pieces; mono 360° panoramas offer 6/24/54. Use seated/standing layouts, rotate pieces, consult a reference image and save progress. The original photo remains unchanged.
- Grab the piece near your hand, point into the frame, align and release to snap it into place. Controller/hand input, wrist rotation and A/X rotation, movable frames and a reference image support comfortable play.
- Independent local progress and history, sounds and completion fireworks. Normal Release entries are open; photo-wall and Memory Fragments layouts are not puzzle sources.
